BeGeistert

The first BeGeistert was held in 1998. The name of the event was derived from Haiku's predecessor BeOS. "Begeistert" is a German word meaning "enthusiastic".
Ever since, mostly twice a year, BeGeistert has been the main event to meet other BeOS / Haiku users and developers face to face, exchange opinions and talk about projects or anything else, maybe over a cool beer. Its central location lends itself to an evening's stroll through Düsseldorf's famous old town.

Additionally to this important social component, BeGeistert is a platform for talks or presentations of projects and also productive workshops. There's power and network connectivity, so everyone can bring their own computer.

Besides the considerable work needed to plan and manage the event, there are also some expenses to consider. What isn't covered by the entrance fee, is paid from our organization's funds, i.e. from donations and membership fees. Staying overnight at the Youth Hostel Düsseldorf with breakfast and lunch is possible at very moderate costs.

Details and reservations are available a few weeks in advance at the BeGeistert website.
